Vice President of Finance

David Stearnes joined NovoSci in May 2002. His main role within the corporation is head of the Accounting and Finance departments. This would include directing all of the activities as they relate to preparing monthly financial statements, development of budgets, banking relationships, payables, receivables, managing corporate assets, cash flow reporting, sales and use tax reporting, inter-company transactions and scheduling the annual audit. Activities would also include tax strategy and
contract administration.

Before joining NovoSci, Mr. Stearnes spent twenty years as Corporate or Plant Controller in various domestic and international corporations – from wholesale distribution, chemical manufacturing, to the new homebuilder industry. These companies include Fleming Foods, Bunzl Western Packaging, Hempel Coatings, ICI Paints (The Glidden Company), and Wisenbaker Builder Services.

Specific management accomplishments include several systems conversions, planned and help develop new management reporting tools, completed all internal and external audits on time, developed and implemented new accounting policies and procedures, and helped establish lockbox cash receipt reporting, installed new on-line banking software and utilized logistic companies to help process, audit and pay freight invoices. Mr. Stearnes has a BS in Accounting from Southeast Missouri State University.
